Some of the richest people in the world were born into their wealth however, not all millionaires are born with silver spoons in their mouths. In fact, many of them come from nothing at all. The "rags-to-riches" may be a cliché, but it is one that has definitely grounded in reality for some famous millionaires.
Through extraordinary grit, perseverance, hard work, talent and a bit of luck, they managed to rise to the very top and have achieved their own rags-to-riches stories.

Tumelo Patrick Matlala grew up in a small village called Welgeval in Rustenburg, impoverished and was raised by his widowed grandmother in a two-roomed mud house with his brother and his ten cousins while their mothers worked in Gauteng as domestic workers.
Matlala was sadly, denied many opportunities in his youth because of his mothers' poverty and the impact of the apartheid legacy. With limited prospects he nevertheless has always been determined and had a desire to make a success of his life in order to leave a legacy for his family and community at large.
He had to pay for his own tertiary studies because his mother could not afford to.
He uses laws such as the Alienation of Land Act 68 of 1981 and Section 13sex of the Income Tax to acquire and build successful property investment portfolios in the urban areas.
Embracing change and following the trends like buying cryptocurrency mining equipments and gold-karatbars sets him apart from his peers.
